Tackle it Tuesday

I saw this idea on another blog and I love it. Every Tuesday you choose a long-put-off project and "tackle" it. I was supposed to take before & after pictures, but forgot in all of the "tackling"! (I'll try to remember next week.)

Today's I tackled under my bed! YIKES! The only time I think about the stuff lurking under my bed is when it has eaten one of my shoes. I rescue the shoe and forget about the dust bunnies for a little while longer. This was WAY overdue. I took the bed apart and found a years worth of wrapping paper, a lost N64 game, a school bag we have been looking for for 6 weeks, 14 pencils and Luke's shoe. (Looks like mine aren't the only tasty ones.)

We have a giant headboard that we love and after moving the mattresses I discovered a secret hiding spot under the headboard. It was just the right size for 8 buckets of wheat! Yay...somewhere to put the wheat! I vacuumed and the realized that for the safety of my shoes I needed to put something under the bed to keep the dust bunnies away. Under the bed just happens to be the right height for boxes of food storage from the cannery (#10 cans). So I put 16 boxes under the bed and kissed the dust bunnies good-bye for good.

What a day! Now that the bed is put back together you would never know the extent of work I did today. But I know and that's all that matters! :)

Way to go Jen! I love when I finish a major project. I just feel so good, like I have accomplished something and my whole day wasn't wasted.
