UPDATE: Why memorize scriptures in the first place??? Watch this and you will never ask again!

I just have to share this because it has been working for us amazingly for over a year now! It is a memorization system that would work for anything, but we use it for scriptures. We try to memorize the monthly scriptures that the kids study in Primary. So one new scripture a month. That keeps us busy. I have also included the Articles of Faith, so that we go over them fairly often as well.

We use this in our daily family scripture study. After the song and prayer, we go over the memorization scriptures before we read from the Book of Mormon.
We have also added "The Living Christ" to our daily memorization. We recite the whole thing from the beginning to where we have memorized each Monday, and then the rest of the week we just work on the paragraph that we are learning. So far we have almost half of it done!
I have very much a "I want it all and I want it now" personality. But I have been gaining a testimony that "slow and steady wins the race". It seems to go so slow, only memorizing one scripture a month, but it doesn't really matter how long it takes us to memorize a scripture. What matters is that we are. One at a time. And over the years we will be able to learn enough!
